Camera not focusing

Have you checked if the lens is obstructed/scratched? Are you using any auto-focus features? Have you tried a different camera app? (If this happens in other apps and disabling auto-focus doesn't help, chances are either the lens is damaged or the focus mechanism inside the camera panel is damaged).

Oh god I hope not only had it a few months it was only noticeable since the 5.1 update X.

Have you tried to reset the settings in the camera app? This way if anything changed without you knowing, it will go back to default.

I cleared storeage cache and reset all camera setting but still have bad focus unless I zoom. When it sees people I get the tracing box around there face so it appears that tracking option is still functional even though it's not enabled. Not sure if that's the problem. I just got this phone and didn't notice any camera issues before one ui 5.1 but had little time with phone as I been waiting for a case and new usb port.

Apperantly this is a common issue. People report smacking the phone will get the focus to work. Obviously this phone had the issue when I bought it. I hate when people sell broken electronics. I found the usb c port was loose so I had to replace that and now the camera is funky.
Otherwise the screen and other things are fantastic but a goofy camera makes me want to get rid of it. Seems Samasung is tight lipped about it. Some people got the camera replaced on warranty.

Mines not in warranty I brought it from cex in November and has its a software update issue and not a fault issue no luck x

Wish I knew how to roll backward lol

My friend has a note 20 ultra and he just did the latest updates and his camera still works fine. I had to smack mine 3x just now but it does work. Takes awesome photos once it's in focus. Make sure you got a good grip on it so you don't slap it to the floor lol

Would be nice to figure out the exact piece of hardware. It appears relates to the top camera which is independent to the other 2 cameras which are a module. But not sure if you can buy just the one part of rif they come as a kit.

My bad it's the middle camera that's funky and it's part of the module. Outside it's easy to get it to focus. Takes great pictures but disappointing that you need to smack it to get it to focus and Samsung admits nothing

I read a surprising ammount of comments even about it happening on S21 and some s22 phones also. Samsung won't admit to anything. People say it's sfter an update it happens. I can't say if mine was like this or not because I just bought mine.
The ca.era is the thing that makes these phones so expensive and when it fails even after 6 months that's not good. Who wants to spend so much and have it broken so fast. Samsung is an evil corporation.

Hiya has your focus problem been sorted. Ow you been slapping the phone ?

I nearly knocked the thing out my hand trying it I've big hands for a lady x I call my hands palm tree lol
