Camera Photos Disappearing Galaxy Note 3 HELP!

I have the same problem on my Note 3 that I purchased online from the US the only difference is I'm using an external memory & still the pictures on the Camera file disappered, my wife Note 3 is from the middle east & she never had this problem.

I have the same problem! trying to recover the picks now! this is so frustrating!

update; I tried everything to recover lost pics... no luck. I replaced the SD card and my problem is now fixed. I'm working with SanDisk now to get the replacement.

I just had this happen to me for the second time...just before the camera folder disappeared I uninstalled a few apps...could uninstalling apps have something to do with this? Plain annoying is what this is.

Just to add to above posting...I deleted an app lately because an uninstall and re install was suggested by developer. It was dolphin browser. There was a message I did not check the box and it said delete all but media files. After doing this is when I noticed the pictures were missing. It happened again after uninstalling and app that had too many adds. I think this may be the connection. I suggest auto backup of photos to everyone so this doesn't happen to you. Most services offer free backup and you can purge at will so what is the harm. good luck.
I did find the hidden files mentioned above and my photos showed up for a hot second an disappeared again as I was checking all the .nomedia files...perplexing.
The backup before deleting any app is a must in my book...burned twice. It is a hard habit to break as you only have 15 minutes to get a refund nowadays.

After a restart a lot of the hidden files were in my folders again...I do think our last update or my deletion of apps with .nomedia warnings may have been a double whammy to me but I did get some pictures back.

sorry to intervene i m having the same issue...i wonder what to do...this is the 2nd time my pictures disappeared....at first i thought i deleted the folder by accident now again this happened....please help..

I would install es file explorer and in settings check show hidden files. Restart phone and see if the photos are there. also go to Google plus and set it to back up photos now and I would leave it set on just in case this happens again. The combo of these 2 things got almost all my pics back...I think somehow certain apps cause some photos to be put in a different file when the app is uninstalled...it is called .nomedia file and it is a hidden file. Good luck.

I have the same problem. Photos and video disappearing from Camera album. My Note 3 started losing photos around February 11, 2015. I have a SanDisk Ultra 64 gb card. When I take a photo, it appears in my default Camera album for a short period of time and then after a while or when I reboot my phone, I just see a greyed out Icon with a silhouette. If I move the photo to my phone memory, it stays there. This happens for videos as well as photos. I have Verizon and the store employees could not help. It was a new issue they had not seen yet. I have installed a different card and it seems to be holding photos. But the card with issues is not defective. The card with issues had 880 files and will not store anymore. The card I replaced it with is also a SanDisk but it is only a temp card, so I'm still looking for an answer. Verizon sent me a new phone under my warranty, but I prefer not to go through a transfer only to have the same issue come up again. From what I am reading on this board, this may not be defective hardware. I read that someone has experienced this problem since Feb 11th (just like me) and I find that to be odd since mine started about the same time frame. I live in Orange County Ca and my service provider is Verizon. Any clues to solve this would be appreciated.

Did you try the suggestions mentioned above? I see people keep having problems but are not saying if they tried the solution some of us have mentioned. Most of my problems occurred after installing or uninstalling apps that moved files/pics/video to .nomedia file which is a hidden file. If you follow the instructions above you may find your pics if not get back to us.

Same problem on my 18 month Note 3. Not sure how long its been doing it but noticed last week. My daughter has started grabbing my phone and snapping millions of pictures with it. So I have been deleting many. I hardly restart my phone ever. I had something freeze up the phone so instead of waiting I pulled the battery and restarted. I then noticed that some of the images I had deleted were back. So its similar to your guys problem. In fact, I cannot delete or save new images. So its like my camera and gallery is having a groundhogs day moment. Pissing me off now. The only apps I have downloaded are a few trivia apps. I have deleted all apps except trivia crack which I really doubt is causing the issue. ES explorer is not allowed to delete anything so I cannot test if that does anything. I have deleted the pictures from the my files app and they come back.

Could your camera have been set on burst shot and you think you are deleting but there could be like 30 of the same picture? Sounds weird.

I cleared all data and cache from my camera. Only taking 1 picture for sure. I am trying to find a way to backup without rooting so I can do a factory reset.

So after lolipop I still cannot get my images to stop coming back and stop removing new ones. This is using the grey stock samsung camera app. Another issue I have with this app is that some photos I take show up in the gallery as a corrupted image and not viewable.

So I switched to the google camera with the rainbow colored lens. Now I have no issues. Images save no problem. They don't get deleted, and they don't come back from the dead. Now I just have to see if they are being backed up to the cloud.

Nerve racking watching the phone trying to move 1200 photos/vids from the the samsung camera folder in the gallery to the google camera folder. Even though they are backed up.

Well google camera sucks a bit too. Cant save images to the SD card. Only saves to internal. So I will have to manually move to a folder. I guess I can handle that for now.

Also, my phantom stock samsung camera folder in gallery repopulates whenever it wants. Not just during restarts. While I was moving images around the samsung camera folder repopulated all 1200 images. I am going to get all my photos moved and to my desktop then reformat the card and see if anything changes.

Hi, I have had same issue of pictures disappearing every now and then and it only happens when you just took a fresh picture. My camera picture are stored on external SD card but still keep disappearing. Its very annoying because I take pictures of documents and stuff before I sign them to keep it safe. Many very important stuff too which I would not like to be synced and uploaded elsewhere due to sensitive personal details like bank cards and passwords and signature etc.
I am pretty sure all my apps even Samsung and Google apps I have turned sync off and no app has permission to mess around with my pics.
Its a dodgy Samsung make I think. We cant even get a peace of mind even after spending £500+ for a phone.....
Very p*** off because it deleted so many very important stuff several times.

I have had the exact same problem with my Note 3 (SM-N900) twice and the last one happened just today. Everything disappeared with no reason at all. Fortunately, I have a Dropbox backup of my videos and photos but still I don't understand why this is happening.

i have the same phone with same problem it happened 2 times the second time was from an hour ago i dont know wht to do to get the pic back!!
