Camera Preview is Dark on Stock Messaging App

Has anyone run into this issue when attempting to capture an image in the app? Only happens with the back camera, and goes away if you toggle to the front camera then back to the back camera. Not an end of the world issue, but still annoying.

This is not happening on my P3XL, so I'm wondering if it's og PXL specific.

Could be, it's not happening on the Pixel 2 either. (Then again, your phone could have a problem.)
