Camera problems with new nexus 7

I had problem can't connect to camera so went into settings then updated from there to 4.4.2 which seems to have fixed problem

For #4, I got that pop up too where it said the camera was unavlable. Does anyone know how to make it available again?

have you tried to adjust the picture size? there is an option on the camera screen.

i just had the same problem today. i was taking a picture, then the screen froze. then it restarted by itself.

I see that people have stopped posting replies to this thread. I bought a Nexus 7 2013 for my Dad, and one of his main purposes of use was to skype-communicate with my sister living abroad. The tab received the latest 4.4.2 update. Everything was working good. The rear camera also was working good. Then suddenly when I turned Skype on, and tried video calling, the call ended without connecting and the camera crashed. Even in the camera app, when I tried rotating the camera from the settings menu (to use the front camera), the camera app crashed. From then on, whenever I tried turning the camera on, it kept saying "Could not connect to camera". ONly after I went to App setting, deleted the cache and the data of the camera app, the camera app started afresh.
Why is this issue not resolved by Google yet? The issue, as I see, is not with the Skype, but with the front camera of the Nexus 7 2013. What's the deal? Can anyone confirm to have solved this problem?

It's definitely with the camera app. I don't know of any fix. Sometimes the camera app will cause my device to suddenly shut off and reboot.

Don't post the same issue in multiple threads!
