Camera question, dust in my sensor?

When taking a few pictures today of a blue sky, I noticed some "dust" I guess, in my pics. I went back and could not find these in previous pictures, so it's a more recent development. I tried cleaning the camera but they are still there, so maybe inside of the lens itself. I tried to, ugh, gently adjust the position of the blobs (by hitting my phone hard against my hand) and they appeared to have moved slightly, so they are mobile.

Should I contact google regarding this? The phone has lived in a case with a tempered glass screen protector and has not been dropped, though I'm not exactly gently when I set it down since it does have a case on it.

I would contact them. The camera unit SHOULD be sealed and dust shouldn't get in there. It could be some sort of debris that broke off inside the camera sensor housing as well. But contacting Google, what's the worst that can happen?

Yeah if it bothers you, i'd def call them. It's taking away the clarity of the camera.

Dang, ok, I'll reach out to them. My only hesitation is that, other than this, the phone seems to be about perfect. Of course not being able to take clear pictures is a pretty major problem, but I'd hate to get a replacement that has a good camera, but something else is wrong.

Fun fun!

The chances of you getting a busted up phone is slim. Don't be fooled by the comments here about defective units. We suffer from selection bias, i.e. you'll see a disproportionate amount of complaints here.

Good point. I reached out to support and am sending them pictures of the dust, we will see what they say.
