So I was looking through and messing a little with the camera. What is 3:4 9:16 1:1 and full?? I do notice that when using 9:16 and full the pictures are larger in my gallery than 3:4.. Just trying to figure out the difference.

So the 3:4 and full have about the same resolution. Just the full cuts the top off? I just really hate taking a picture then going into the gallery and it's not showing full screen. When I had my iPhone it did the same thing and I hated it.

It's governed by the aspect ratio of the sensor, so 3x4 uses all the pixels on the sensor, all other ratios are crops.

I prefer to use the crop that fits the size of my phone screen as that's where I view my pictures.

Super dumb question, but how do i switch to night mode?

Also, how to I switch to the wide angle lens?

Sorry can't help you with that question as I don't have an S10. I'm sure someone will answer you soon.

There are some trees at the bottom of your screen in the camera the 3 trees are the wide angle lens. Night mode idk yet lol

A few years ago Samsung and HTC phones had native 16:9 aspect ratios for their cameras. Wider ratios seem to make more sense since the devices that we view photos these days are all 16:9 or wider (smartphones, computer monitors, widescreen TVs). Even full frame camera sensors are at least 3:2. 4:3 just seems like a curious choice.

Night shot mode is that what you are talking about?? If so it's built into the screen optimizer feature.... Night mode to turn all the white backgrounds to black is in settings then display

So you use the full or 16:9 ratio??

Yes, 16x9 fits my screen and also fills my TV screen.

It may be worthwhile starting a new thread if you have different questions as you are more likely to get a response. Enjoy learning about your new phone.

I thought the S10 had something similar to Google Camera's night sight. Is that just the scene optimizer?
