Camera rotation does not work

My camera won't flip from the main camera to the front camera. Also, when I take pictures with the main camera, they all turn out upside-down. Both issues started at the same time. A few days ago, I tried to get the battery out, but the cover was glued to the phone so I ended up cracking the cover and never opened it. Not sure, but maybe this caused some damage that now prevents the camera to rotate? What are your thoughts?

Hi, welcome to Android Forums

What phone ?
Have you tried clearing cache and force stop camera?

1. The switch (rotation means turning the phone from portrait to landscape) from back to front not working probably means that the front camera module is bad.

2. Opening a phone IS NOT A DIY PROJECT! Bring it to a repair shop and see if you can convince them to work on a phone that you very obviously broke. (I wouldn't ever have allowed anyone in any of my stores to accept a phone like that for repair. Aside from the repair probably costing you more than a new phone, the entire phone has to be checked to make sure that you didn't break something you didn't notice. Because when you notice it in 2 weeks you're going to be back saying that we broke it, and we have to fix it for free.)

Next time, take it to a repair shop before you break it.

As far as the pictures turning upside down, that could be due to a few things - most of which are rough handling of the phone. (The broken front camera module and the ease with which you're willing to crack the ease seem to indicate that you're very rough on your phones, so be prepared to be replacing a lot of them. Or learning that you can't treat electronics that way.)
