Camera Shakiness with Video

I used my V20 last night at a Penguins hockey game to take some photos and videos. One thing I noticed is just how bad the stabilization is with video. No matter what I do there is a lot of shakiness in every video. I never had that on my Galaxy S7 or Note 7. I even checked the setting to make sure video stabilization was turned on, which it was. I wanna like this phone, but with results from the video camera like that, my boycott of Samsung is going to be short-lived.

I took my V20 to a job site yesterday to document existing conditions. I couldn't believe how shaky it was. Even when I kept the camera still, the video was very shaky. It seemed like the stabilization was reversed and set to "de-stabilize". I haven't had a chance to try more video. I've seen dozens of reviews and they were primarily positive so I assume this isn't normal.

UPDATE: Sitting here at my desk I just filmed a quick video with a mix of slow and fast motion. It came out great. Just thinking out loud here.... maybe the video didn't have enough time to process. I do recall that when I took the shaky video, I immediately pressed the preview circle to view the video. Maybe the process got interrupted?? I'll have to try some more after work.

Thanks for starting this thread. I have been curious about the stabilization since a few of the videos on YouTube appeared shaky. Then I saw the official LG video for steady record 2.0 and thought maybe it was a missed setting somewhere. Their video shows a pretty noticeable difference with stabilization on.

Weird. posted this same exact thread a few days ago without one reply. I figured I was nuts. I work for the Penguins so was attempting to test the video during warmups. The video stabilization mode ruined every attempt, which I did 6 times. My thought was possibly it was trying to focus on all the moving players and causing it to go bonkers, but i don't know.

If its not out there (or I misses it) LG should give a detailed explanation how it works and when it can be used, although it's sort of a let down, with all its praise, to think if im making a video with more than one moving object it needs to be off.

I think I need an invite to see the problem in person. ☺ I live about 25 minutes from the arena just FYI.... 😂

I've tried to use it myself and it makes the video worse for me as well. I don't get it.

I just did another test just walking down the hall and with stabilization on it was considerably worse. I can't figure out what's the problem.
