Camera shortcut on lockscreen

One of the things KitKat was touted for was being able to open the camera app from the lockscreen. I've found no way to do this and am assuming its because (A) I'm not rooted and (B) my company's Exchange setup requires a PIN/passcode to secure the phone. Or am I missing something?

Neither of those should be effecting it (unless there's a way your company is able to disable it). My phone is not rooted and uses a PIN and the shortcut is right on the lockscreen:
