Camera will not initalize - error message. Ideas?

rebooted, cleared cache, hard reset, still getting same camera error message - Camera will not initialize. Suggestions?

Have had phone for two weeks. First time using camera

I had the same issue. The camera was defective. Verizon replaced the phone, and everything is working fine now.
