Camera zooming

I love this phone, dont get me wrong. I do have one question on the camera. My pictures when fulling zooming in and close up seem very distorted. Am I doing something wrong? I am in doors and the lighting isnt the best, however, I figured with this phone it shouldnt matter. Thoughts?

This is normal. Generally speaking you are not.going to get very good results from the camera when zooming in, particularly with low levels of ambient light. The zoom is not an optical zoom, but rather a digital type zoom where the image is simply being cropped and fit to the screen. Essentially the same thing as if you took the photo at the widest angle and then zoomed in and cropped the picture yourself.

Generally digital zoom is still better than just cropping as it is usually cropped before the file gets compressed for saving.
