CameraLightSensor using up battery

Hi all,

I'm running an S20 FE with the June update. The update was a few weeks ago, and everything's been going well until 2 days ago. I noticed that the battery was draining faster than usual, and when I checked, saw that CameraLightSensor was using the most battery. It always show 0 minutes active, but as of now, 22 hours in the background.

I haven't installed any new apps or made any changes to settings. What can be doing this? Can it be some new version of Google Play Services or something?

Never heard of this , try clearing data and force stop the camera app

I think so. I'll see. For some reason, in Advanced Settings->Motions and gestures, the "Mute with gesture" was turned on, even though I don't remember doing that. From the description, it sounds like it would use the light sensor. I turned it off now, so let's see if that does the trick.

Well, for a few hours, it looked like turning off "Mute with gestures" worked, but it's back. 8.8% of battery used by camera light sensor today. I've reset the camera settings, and I've forced stopped it now, so I'll see how that works out.

Cool just remember watch battery stats after full charge .

Simply resetting camera settings didn't help. After I cleared all its data, the problem seems to have gone away. But it's annoying that this is the second time I've run into settings/data problems with the camera. The first time, I had to reset settings to fix laggy shutter button, and now to fix a battery draining issue. I have to wonder what's next.

Anyway, thanks to all who helped!

Hopefully gets addressed in future updates
