There used to be a light bulb slider that would allow me to change the brightness of a photo before taking a picture with the camera app. I tried to use it today and noticed that slider has disappeared. Does anyone know why it's gone? Can anyone help me get it back?
Here's a screenshot I took from a website (Samsung Galaxy S8 Camera User Guide Tutorial: How To Get The MOST From It | Know Your Mobile) explaining how to get it and how it works, it no longer shows up for me in my camera app. Please help! CameraBrightness.JPG

I'm not getting the slider either, even after getting the point locked.

That's really odd. I know you, ECM, are a pretty phone savyy person so I tend to believe it's a bug on your device.

Aw, shucks...

I was thinking of doing a factory reset and testing before doing a restore. But, I'm wondering if the Sammy camera app add-ons may be causing a conflict. Or worse, a combination of one or more. I have most of them installed, and unfortunately use most. I'll probably have to uninstall/test/reinstall them one by one to know for sure.

Thank you ECM and Centerman66 for your input.
I used to be able to pick a focus/exposure lock point and I remember the slider used to show up but it no longer does when the focus/exposure point is locked.
Maybe I'll try the same and uninstall the few add-ons I have. Centerman66, do you have any add-ons installed on your camera?

Nope. No add ons here. And it looks like I won't be installing any in the future. Let me know if their removal resolves the issues.

I had the same problem recently. Was toying around with the settings and discovered that if the "tracking-af" feature is turned on, the brightness slider disappears. But if i turned it off the slider appears again. I hope this can help.

BINGO! That's the setting.

I have a question in regards to the focus icon that appears when you tap the screen. Its a half filled circle but appears in random positions. Does anyone know what the different positions inside the circle indicate?

Hey there ! I'm prolly late but the same happened with me as well . And I realised my tracking AF was on , causing the brightness slider option to disappear. I hope this helps.

Just disable the Tracking AF in Settings and your exposure/brightness slider adjustor will reappear again.
