Can a galaxy 9 screen fit on a Galaxy 8

[Android Central Question]

Installed a Galaxy 9 on my new galaxy 8 .it dropped glass fell off and cracked
I have a suspicion that the installation was faulty .
because a 9 does not fit exactly

And no, it doesn't fit. Now bring it to a repair shop and pay for a proper repair job.

S9 and S8 have the same screen size, but the phones do not have identical bezels and dimensions. The S9 supposedly has thicker glass, but the front of the phone is half a millimeter wider than the S8 while being about a millimeter shorter.

Dimensions are close, but not a perfect match. The S9 screen should NOT be used as a replacement for the S8.
