Is it possible to view and edit the app list that google drive saved from my old phone.
I would like to delete the app list completely. forgot to uncheck it before starting horribly long backup.
Trying not to reinstall whatever app is taking over my phone.

I don't believe that's possible. You could always just set the phone up from scratch, instead of restoring from the backup. Entering your Google account should at least sync all of your Google-associated data. If the Play Store starts automatically installing apps, you can always cancel that process.

Support 101... List your device to receive potential alternatives.

I see in the past you posted about a S22.
Use Samsung to make a backup and when setting the phone up, under the Google Prompt, select set up as a new phone.

Samsung's backup let's you customize exactly what you want to keep and should you change your mind and want less, I think restore let's you uncheck

That is correct regarding Smart Switch. I like using the PC version of Smart Switch. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00048603/
