Can a streaming media player be restarted after it stops?

can a streaming media player be restarted after it stops?

This is part 2 of my question from earlier;my media player stops at 4 or 5 mins.into the video I'm watching;just wondering if there is a way to restart it from where it stopped in the video or do I have to restart the video from the beginning and run the risk of it stopping again?

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Is it the stock media player app? Is the app actually force closing? If so, then I doubt it'll remember where you were in the video.
