I have been using Google Family Link to manage my child’s phone - it’s great for screen time and app limits, but I’m not sure if it’s truly enough for online safety.

Do other parents use any additional tools or apps along with it, or is Family Link all you really need?

Looking for the recommendation.

Thanks

I have been in the same boat actually - Family Link works fine for the basics like screen time and app control, but I felt it didn’t go deep enough once my kid started using social apps. I ended up trying Xnspy for a bit more insight into online activity, and it helped me catch a few things early on. A friend of mine uses OurPact and swears by it for scheduling screen time. I think it really depends on how much visibility you want - Family Link is a good start, but sometimes a little extra backup helps.

Haha, I use Family Link too, it’s great until your kid figures out how to outsmart it faster than you can Google ‘how to block YouTube Shorts.’ 😅 Honestly, Family Link feels more like ‘Family Suggestion.
