Can a VZW S3 be flashed to work on Straight Talk?

My husband and I are looking into upgrading to Note 2s. I put a feeler out on our local Craigslist that our S3s would be for sale in about a month. The first response I got was someone interested in buying them, because they want to flash them to Straight Talk.

I did my googling, but seem to find mixed answers on whether this is possible or not. I simply do not want someone to buy these phones from us and not get what they were hoping for. Can anyone tell me if a stock S3 on the Verizon network can be flashed to Straight Talk?

No they are dreaming it will not work. It is an lte phone and not allowed on network. The flashing will not help.

My understanding is that it can be switched back and forth between cdma/lte, global, etc but I do not know. Is this not the case?

Just to give a simple answer, there are many things that can be done or achieved with a smartphone. Although this particular subject leans more towards activity we don't condone or allow discussion about at Android Central concerning flashing the phone to another provider.

To the OP from a seller standpoint, its up to your own personal morals. If you feel the buyer(s) is out to purchase from you and attempt an illegal activity then its your decision if you want to complete the sale or not.
