Can an app go 100% hidden

[Android Central Question]

I opened a link on an old phone of mine that was said to "drive-by download" malware on Android 6 phones and lower (my phone was Android 6)
I checked my apps,running processes,data usage,battery usage EVERYTHING
And didn't find any trace of it other than my data is going high and when calculating all data usage info shown

It would be like
Youtube 4gb data
Fb 3gb
Google play services 800mb
Android system 400mb
Random apps 200mb
Total should be 8gb 400mb

But the actual total would be 10gb and a few mbs

So I again checked apps lists(with system apps) battery usage, running processes, cpu consumption, ram consumption
Still nothing

Could the malware have really got into my phone but perfectly hid itself

Welcome to Android Central! Drive-by malware is exceedingly rare -- can you share a link with information about the malware you're concerned about?

You could try booting the phone into Safe Mode and seeing if the data usage remains about the same.
