Can Android Auto and Android wearable work at the same time ?

I'm thinking of a situation in my car wherein I may need to connect my phone to Android auto running on my car infotainment system (E.g. Pioneer AVIC-7000NEX) and also Android smart watch which I'm wearing. I have neither of these to test of course. Can both be paired and connected to an Android smart phone at the same time ?

Yup, totally can. Two different things, two different connections. Doable.
