Can any of the new smartwatch offerings do everything the Gear S can do?

My Gear S has been super sweet, and I was all primed to get any upgrade to this watch.

However, they move the form factor, cut features, on the upgrade to the S, and other offerings, IMO, don't do what the Gear S can do..

I really like the part where, I am doing something and a call comes in on my phone, and it also comes on my Gear S. I can take the call on the Gear S, tell the party, I will call them back, or if not driving, go ahead and take the call. Also, if I dare to forget my Note 4 and leave it at home, I am still good to go with the Gear S.

The S2 is smaller, missing features, etc..The Huawei looks daggone good, and was going to swing with that, but, you can't make or receive calls on the Huawei..

Again, is any smartwatch out there that can match or supersede the Gear S in features???

The Gear S was cellular only. The Gear S2 is cellular optional, and hasn't been released yet. Wait for that to come out and then see if it works for you.

I also have the gear S witch is a great watch. I do miss some of the android features like google play music, I can control it but not download from the service. Also google maps.

That being said the LG watch Urban 2nd edition, is android wear with LTE. So I can have the stand alone feature that the Gear S has, along with google maps and music.

Whats stopping me is I actually perfer Tizen over Android wear, I have a browser, and for me the ideal shape for a smartwatch is retangular, not round, which the LG watch is.

But for you it may work. Check it out.

Thanks for that, this does look promising.. I will get one one after release date and give it a go. At least this one is allowing calls from and to the watch.
