I have the LG Viper and my screen has now gone out... my phone was rooted, and i want to unroot it before i take it to the sprint repair center... USB debugging for some reason or another was turned of on my device... Am i screwed?

No dice on getting this application open,

java.lang.RuntimeException: Timeout getting device list!

Does the touch part of the screen work, or did the screen go black and nothing works? If the touch part will work try this.

Press menu then right above the soft buttons on the screen press what would normally be system settings.
Then about an inch above the bottom of the phone press what would be applications.
Then development
Then check us debugging.
Here is a few screen shots.
I hope this helps

Not sure about you, but when I brought my phone to sprint, they didn't even look at the old one when they got me a replacement

I traded in one that I didn't even buy from Sprint, got it off of Craigslist. (I do have the equipment protection plan). They gave me a brand new one.

Yep sprint doesn't really care if its rooted (as long as you don't replace your phone repeatedly) they have accepted that some users do it, unlike Verizon or att. That's another reason why I stay with sprint.

It's cause rooted phones are only ever returned for shattered screens, they aren't as ed when they have a bricked phone.

Will they replace the phone or the screen, they instructed me to take it to a sprint repair shop

ugghhh... yet again more proof that sprint does not hire experienced people

Ya the guy said he had it going for a minute then it shut off.... So its declared trash now... I can say they have awesome customer service these days...

Actually ive returned several rooted phones that I've bricked for another(and yes I tell the truth). Only did it with the viper once, I honestly don't see why theyd accept a return on a cracked screen anyway 99.9% of the time its your fault.

I didn't drop the phone at all no scratches or signs of abuse, they already sent me my replacement just haven't switched to it yet, been enjoying using my evo.

Well in my experience if your bringing it to an authorized repair center.... They do run a system scan for signs of SU and or modified busy box. If you have insurance and the screen is broken your probably okay... But, you can still unroot via firmware flash. (future reference, screen replacements are allot easier then some people think, seen some sell fairly cheap online.
