Can anyone explain this sdcard issue?

I have a brand-new gsm Galaxy Nexus purchased from Google. I wish to copy pics, videos, etc from PC to phone. I have noted that there are two different ways to see the sdcard as follows:
/sdcard
and
/storage/sdcard0

When accessed they seem to show the same contents. Can anyone explain the difference and which I should use?

The Galaxy Nexus doesn't have an SD card slot.
Thanks. Yes, I understand that, but as mentioned, file managers show two different paths to what appears to be the same thing. I'm hoping someone can explain the significance and which one I should be copying to from my PC. BTW, my phone is rooted in case that matters.

I only have /storage/sdcard0. Perhaps when you rooted it created that other directory?

Interestingly, I have an empty kindle folder but I have never installed an Amazon app.

Different names for the same location. It doesn't matter which one you use. Think of it like a folder and a shortcut to that same folder.

Sent from my Nexus 7

I was wondering about this too. I understand they are different names for same location, but does anyone know why it's set up like this?

Because there are tons of apps out there that still think every device has a removable SDcard.

Thanks. I think that pretty well answers my question.

I see you are also on Straight Talk AT&T. Have you had any data issues? Have you been able to stay within the 2GB soft cap often recommended?

Glad it helped.

Haven't had any data issues at all. Not as fast as T-Mobile Monthly 4G (of course) but the coverage and consistency is better, which is why I switched in the first place.

I'm just over a week into my 2nd month with ST AT&T. My first month I used just a bit over 2.5GB on the month (factory reset in the middle so not sure exactly) and never got throttled or cut off. The day after my new month started I got a pre-recorded message call saying that I was "using a lot of data", and to tone it down. Speeds are still fine this month though. Think it really just depends on your area and the market saturation when you're using data. I think anything under 3GB is probably safe, but there's really no set line that I could say you get for sure, really depends.

We're also in our second month with ST AT&T. We used 1.8GB in our first month and received no messages! I'm tempted to try out T-mobile, but so far we're fine with AT&T.
