Can anyone suggest something besides the Google Messenger that has taken over my phone? For the time being, I'm using Verizon Message+.

Messenger is ugly; the bubbles make text harder to read; the colors are awful; I don't care in the least about stickies. (And I don't do social media so things like Facebook messenger - I've no idea if it's any good - won't work.)

Textra is very customizable, give it a go. I like it.

Evolve is doing very right by me and is even better on Nougat than it was on MM.
