Can app shortcuts be CREATED inside folders?

Is there any way to create an app shortcut inside of a folder rather than move it from the homescreen into a folder? My homescreens are pretty full, and it takes some serious shuffling to add an app shortcut to a homescreen before moving it into an appropriate folder.

I use folder organizer because I was really unhappy with the android folder system.

First thing - When you hold an app and it comes up on the home screen you do not need to place it outside the folder first, if you hover over a folder it will drop right in.

Second - I highly recommend Elixir (free in the market and one of my favorite apps). You could have up to 42 apps on one screen using it, and it has a lot of other cool custom features.

One thing to be aware of with folders is losing the app icon and having it replaced with a generic Android thing. I have not been able to add an app inside a folder. If you decide to use one, keep the spot next to the folder empty and you always have a location to add and move.

? Worked fine for me. App and icons.

You're correct, I hadn't thought to use the Personalize button and was trying to long hold in the folder.

The icons changing is a hit and miss thing, I can't figure out what triggers the change, and its not all the apps in the folder. May just be something about how the app is programmed.

I honestly had no idea you could add apps this way. I was long pressing an empty spot on my home screen until the add widgets/apps menu came up... This fixes the issue for me.

This may or may not be something to look at, but it may help since your screens are all cluttered up.

I was reviewing the "post your homescreens" thread and so many people had this app i had to try it.

Circle launcher.... I had half a screen for my most used contacts. Now that same screen has four icons only. One is for contacts and when i tap the icon all the contacts i chose come up in a circle. Then i have all my games on one for when my son plays with my phone. He hates having to scroll thru all my apps and figure out which ones are games. Then i have my media/social apps all tied to one, and one for my productivity apps. I guess i use it like i would a folder but it just looks cool. One icon, tap and a circle pops up to see all the contacts or apps tied to that icon.

Glad I could help. I'm learning too.

I'm going to check out that circle launcher Ter is talking about too.

Folders

I use Folder Organizer.... HTC ought to made this one of the stock apps that come with phone. There's not much you can't do with this app... Change icons of any app inside the folder, rename, you name it...
