Can Dual SIM be enabled on the Moto X Pure Edition?

This is the one thing I gave up to order a pure edition. I know it appears to have the physical capability, but curious what it would take to activate it on the software side?

Not a dual sim device. The tray holds 1 sim and 1 micro SD.

The owner's manual says "in some countries" you can use a second SIM.

Is the Style (international version) or Play dual sim? I'm sure to save on $$, Moto used the same sim/sdcard tray in this phone even though it isn't dual sim.
