can get pic messages on my galaxy note

i have a galaxay note with straight talk service, and i cant receive pic messages

Not sure what straight talk is, but, I don't have a text messaging plan (I use GV). So, when I need to send or receive picture messages, I just have the person send it to my gmail account. Or I shoot the person an email instead of a picture message. I know it's a work around, but, it works for me.
