You should be able to add ringtones like most other phones... either via an app like Zedge, or copying them to the Ringtones folder on your storage (plugging it into a computer).

As far as assigning different tones to contacts, you should be able to find that if you look in the Contacts app and edit a contact.... in the extended properties, there might be a ringtone field.

For some idiotic reason you cannot simply search for ringtones via the ringtone menu. You have to install an app to get access to the ringtones folder, unless you plug your phone into your puter via USB and access the folder structure that way.

I installed ES File Explorer, downloaded a ringtone and then moved it into the ringtones folder.

This is absolutely not my experience. I just went into a contact, hit the edit pencil, tapped the three dot menu, choose "Select Ringtone" and all the MP3s I dumped in my Ringtones folder are in the list

My ringtone download saved to Downloads. It does not show up in Ringtones. How can I get it to save there?

Great app!
You also could have plugged into a computer and moved files that way

You can also move them via the "explore" option in the storage menu without downloading another app.

There's an easier way to get a custom ringtone on your phone without downloading any apps or files to your phone, or connecting it to your computer via USB.

1. On your computer, select the ringtone you want - make sure it's in an MP3 format.
2. Initiate an email, and address it to, XXXXXXXXXX@VZWPIX.com (The X's being your 10 digit cell phone number)
3. Attach the ringtone to the email and send it. It will come into your phone as a text.
4. When you get the text, tap the message containing the ringtone.
5. Touch and hold the area that surrounds the attachment box.
6. A dialogue box will open with several options - tap, 'Save attachment.' The sound file is then automatically saved to the same
location as the default ringtones. then, just go to 'ringtones' and select it as your ringtone.
