If I get the Verizon version, I just realized, if I add it to my old school family account, which hasn't been changed in 4 years now, does anyone know if that would screw up my UDP? Cause if it does, that will settle whether or not I get it on my carrier.
Can I add this to my UDP line on Verizon?

No you cannot. I have UDP also. It will be added as a completely separate line with its own account so you will have to create a separate login and password to pay the monthly bill also. It will run you about 30 dollars extra per month with 500 mb of data, 45 per month with 1 gb of data. Its a pain but I use my watch in stand alone mode frequently so I need the 1 gb plan.
Well, F that, I'll just buy a ATT one and accept the fact that I have to have my phone with me.
Update-well, I called Verizon and they said it'd be 10 bucks a month for the watch in terms of paying for the standalone function. Honestly, if I get that feature, if I leave my phone at home, whatever I need to do will NOT need to use data, more like a short jaunt somewhere and maybe need to be able to call or message someone. So, back to debating.

In order to use it with full functionality, your watch will have to use data to remotely connect to your phone. Otherwise, you will have to use it stand alone. That means most of the features and apps will not work and you will have to give out your watch's number in order for ppl to reach you.

I use my watch in standalone often and the most data I've used in a month was under 2MB.
There is no video streaming capability to speak of, streaming music uses little data , Opera Mini compresses websites down to practically nothing and remote connection polls, notifications, etc use less than a KB each . My most used data sessions are with Opera doing Google searches and forum surfing with the occasional checking of Facebook.
I wrote that to say, go ahead and leave the phone at home and use the data to your hearts content without worry of overages.
