I have Ambient Display and adaptive brightness turned off on my Nexus 6p.
I do not have a screen protector on my phone.
I'm extremely happy with the phone except for one thing: the proximity sensor.
If I'm doing anything on my phone and my hand passes over the proximity sensor, the screen goes blank. I am not referring to phone calls.
This occurs when trying to use the camera and turning the phone horizontally, playing a game, texting, etc. and it is so annoying!
Is this a hardware issue or is there a way to disable the proximity sensor to keep this from happening?
I have searched forums and the internet and cannot find anyone having the same issue.
Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Thanks in advance,
MIKI

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's a hardware issue. Maybe try wiping the phone and if that doesn't work, then get a replacement.

I agree that it's a hardware issue. Wipe phone, if the problem is still there, return it!
