AC Question

Hi Guys, is Lou from Missouri!
First: I love your podcast!
I did use a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 on T-Mobile, bought on eBay from August. Yesterday I did call T-Mobile to unlock the phone and today they block my phone because was not fully paid. Can I do anything to be able to use this phone? I ask T-Mobile if I can pay the difference to be able to use ‘it and they are saying that the amount owned by the previous owner is a secret and that’s it… Funny is, the T-Mobile already send me 2 emails, one with the unlocking code and another one with the message: we are not able to give you an unlocking code because the phone was not paid in full… Please Help Me! Regards, Lou
P.S. What phone you guys recommend getting in case this phone is no more usable on T-Mobile network. I need to have Wi-Fi calling...

Welcome to AC!
Unfortunately, if the phone was not paid off by the previous owner, the IMEI has been blacklisted. This means you can no longer activate it on any carrier regardless of payment or unlock status. Any T-Mobile branded phone will have WiFi calling, as well as the new Nexus phones. The Nexus 6P is a solid option to look at IMO
