Ok so I created a account simply for this issue because it's driving me nuts.
I have a Galaxy Nexus. I got it in January when I renewed my contract. I've had nothing but signal issue while in my house, basically I lose signal constantly no matter where I am but it seems to be most consistent at my house. After my 3rd refurbed GNEX I thought it was just my house and would have to deal with it. Well yesterday my wife and I had some friends over for the 4th and my buddy has a Droid Maxx. He got great signal in my house the whole time. He was getting 3-4 bars 4G no problem while I was dropping signal. So it's not my area that I live.
I'm tired of just getting refurbs that don't work, would Verizon switch me out to a different phone? It doesn't even have to be a Droid Maxx it could be anything that get's me better signal?
Any input would be appreciated.

Normally the answer is NO!

BUT if you can go to your corp store and complain to the manager they might be able ti over ride it for you. The Gnex (CDMA) is known for its bad signal. GMS version might be the same way but I am not 100% sure.

If the local store doesn't work then you have to deal with CS over the 800 number. That I hear is a nightmare. But from a customer stand point Verizon doesn't have to do anything but send you another Gnex. Its all about getting the right person to feel bad for you who has the power to over ride how they would normally work. AKA managers!

I really do hope Verizon does the right thing and help you out. Good luck getting it replaced! (Also if they don't help you may wanna jump carriers. Also let them know in a NICE way. Being nice will get you a lot further in your quest to get a new handset!)

Yes you can easily get a new phone. Call tech support and ask for tier 2. I replaced my fiance's Bionic with a Rezound (but they offered the Razr or Nexus as well). My issue was the constant data drops and basically made the phone unusable. You can get it done. Just call 611 and ask and be polite and persistent. You'll get a refurbished model of course.

I did it with 1 try. I'm actually thinking of replacing my personal Rezound for a Nexus for Jelly Bean!

So when I call do I just say "tier 2"?

Well ask for tech support...they'll probably make you talk to a tier 1 before transferring you. Only Tier 2 can issue replacement devices.

I am sure you can get a replacement phone. I did. And I had 4 blackberries. I spoke with Retention. I was given the choice and that's how I got into Android. I was polite and they agreed the devices were defective. This was well over two years ago. Customer care will work with you. Corporate stores don't have the authority to make a switch. Call tech support and see what they will do. Might offer you the HTC Resound. I doubt seriously a maxx...too new. I was given the incredible. Now have the thunderbolt. Been awesome. Good luck
