Help getting my Cox.Net email account to show.

Hi. New member. Just posted success with Verizon giving me a SIM card for $20 and setting up the phone. Spent the day CNTRL-C and CNTRL-V for all my phone contacts. Verizon was NOT able to get them from my old Samsung Convoy 3 (flip-phone) to this device, but I d/led the contacts to a .csv file and supposedly if I imported those contact to my GMail account, they would populate on the phone (the new Nexus 5X). Don't believe everything you read on the internet and on the Android blogs! If you do this, the number populate in your account as 'data' only - in the Notes field - and then you have to move them form that field individually to the 'phone number' fields! Anyway, a 2 hour drill to manually get the phone numbers in the new phone. (Maybe there is a better way - suggestions would be welcomed to the next guy that has my problem. TIA) Now, I finally got a new account loaded - took a bit of help from Tier 2 at Cox.net to get email listing correct to get my Cox webmail under my accounts.
Question is, how do I get the Cox email account onto my main screen? Now I have to go under GMail, then use a dropdown selection to see Cox email. Thanks for the attention.

Welcome to Android Central! I think you could use the Gmail widget, and select your Cox email account to be the one that shows in the widget. Long-press any empty part of a homescreen, then tap widget, and then long-press the Gmail widget, and drag and drop it to the homescreen. Now pick the Cox email folder to show in the widget. You can now preview your emails on the widget, and tapping the widget will take you directly to your Cox inbox in the Gmail app.
