Can I get some help unlocking my Xperia Z3?

I have a sony xperia z3 6616, and it's originally from t-mobile, it's locked and I want to unlock it down for mexico, I put in a sim while the phones off then I turn the phone on, but it doesn't prompt Me to input a code to unlock it, it says I need to update the sim card and that it isn't compatible, any help?

Try calling T-Mobile and ask them? I've called my carrier when I wanted to unlock my phone for travel.
