Can I get some help with a Galaxy S5 unique charging issue?

galaxy s5 unique charging issue?

My galaxy s5, while unplugged, was repeatedly telling me that it couldn't charge. And since then it has been telling me 3 things off and on while plugged into the charger: slow charging, cannot charge (with red X in battery icon) or simply doesn't even recognize that it's plugged in at all. Is there any hope?

Check for foreign object (dust, lint) in charging/data port.

Or, try another cable.
