android mirror images

do all android phone front facing cameras flip the image you see in taken photo.
from what I've been reading they appear to, although if you go into the diagnostics setting screen (*#0*#) testing the camera there doesn't. The image you see in the screen is the image you end up with.
Can anyone enlighten me, as I'm in the middle of changing my phone which would be a pain. By the way when I showed the guy from Samsung in the local Three shop he agreed it shouldn't look that way.just spoken to friends with galaxy s4, alpha, s3, s4 mini, and Sony experia z3 and all these phones are doing the same as mine however I should just mention that the image in the viewing screen is mirrored and the end picture is a real world image. Not that it makes much difference as we are all left with mirrored images. I am using the s6 edge (5.1.1) and there are no settings in the stock camera app that I can find to create a mirrored image. I am now more confused than ever. Does anyone have any further thoughts please?

Re: android mirror images

Welcome to Android Central! Most phones will take a true image with the front-facing camera, not a mirror-type image. Some camera apps will give you an option to make the image mirrored, so check the camera settings. For example, on my Zenfone 2, the image I see when the camera is set to front-facing is like a mirror image; however, in the Camera app's settings, there's an option to "Save as flipped image," which is checked on my default. So photos I take with the front-facing camera actually save as a real-world image, not mirrored.

Re: android mirror images

I just tried it on my LG G4, and the photo was the same as the viewfinder screen image. I think that's normal for most phones at least.
