Note Edge bluetooth/call waiting problem

I'm having a problem on the Note Edge (AT&T) on Lollipop 5.0.1. I'm using a Samsung HM1900 bluetooth headset. The instant a second call beeps in the bluetooth connection drops out even if i don't answer it. Unless I want to put the phone up to my ear, I have to use the quick settings to turn off and then turn back on bluetooth. Swapping BACK to the first call doesn't affect the bluetooth connection. Is it android? Or is it my Note Edge? Is the HM1900"s bluetooth version not vibing with the Note's bluetooth?

Samsung was no help. I've found a few postings online where people had the exact same problem but with different phones, different bluetooth devices,
different versions of Android, different carriers. I can't find any common denominator to explain what's happening. Any ideas?

Re: Note Edge bluetooth/call waiting problem

I've had the same issue with two different android phones on att. 1st was a kyocera duraforce (two of them) and second was my current galaxy s5. Tried with 3 different Bluetooth devices and the same thing happened every time and it happened right off the bat with each phone not later down the road. Have an s5 (personal) on Verizon and have no problem with call waiting and Bluetooth connection. Called ATT super tech support and they were stumped. They said call Samsung who was no help. ATT called me back just now and I've told them again I think the issue lies in the call waiting feature software. For now all I've done is turn off call waiting and of course you don't have the problem, but you just need to be keep an eye on your voicemail after your call. If att has any kind of solution I'll update

Re: Note Edge bluetooth/call waiting problem

Ok, somehow the problem has corrected itself. About a week ago, I noticed that call waiting was working fine without disrupting the bluetooth connection.
At the same time, I developed a new problem.
My Samsung HM1900 will randomly announce "call terminated" in my ear, several times a day.
But I'm not on a call at the time.
I've checked my logs. I'm not pocket dialing, or auto-answering either.
There is no call, incoming or outgoing.
In fact, when I first power on the bluetooth, it says:
"power on"
"phone connected"
"call terminated"
And it's still dropping calls, mostly in areas with weak cell coverage, but sometimes in "good" areas as well.
Plus, I've noticed that just having the phone in my pocket weakens the BT connection enough to cause audible static.
