Plex assistance needed

Hi, looking for a bit of help with Plex. If I pay the subscription fee monthly, and sync my data will it allow me to view it offline? right now, in order for me to view my media on my phone I have to have my laptop (server) turned on. If I paid the subscription fee, synced on my phone, would it allow me to view the contents on my phone when the laptop is turned off?

The website states that's exactly what happens

Mobile Sync is a premium feature from Plex that requires an active Plex Pass subscription on the source Plex Media Server. It allows you to load a compatible copy of a library item onto a mobile device so that it is available for offline viewing.

Re: Plex assistance needed

It's an expensive way of getting media to your mobile device for offline viewing if that is your main use case.

You'd be better of just setting up an SMB share and using a decent file explorer (ES or FX) to copy/paste the media files for offline viewing via your network.

The only advantage of Plex Sync in this scenario is the possibility of syncing from a remote location, but that still relies on your server being switched on when you are not at home.
