Pixel 7 pro wont connect to windows 11, please help

Im trying to transfer music files from my laptop to my pixel. its worked in the past and all of a sudden it just wont connect.windows plays the audible connection sound. i have debugging enabled. option set to file transfer. drivers updated. ive tried different usb cables and ive tried different usb ports. yes... ive searched google and ive posted on reddit. nothing is working. please help me out. do i need to reset windows? oh yeah, im on the beta, android 16

Just to be sure -- when you connect via cable and swipe down the notification panel, that's where you're setting it to file transfer?
