Whatsapp Notification Counter Issues

Hey everyone,

So basically I had the issue where my whatsapp was stuck with the little red counter at 2 despite there being no messages received.

Went to Application Manager then All the Badge Provider and cleared data uninstalled then re installed. Yes the issure was fixed however, now i get absolutely no whatsapp counter. the counter is still available on other apps games messages missed calls but not whatsapp.

I know its trivial but its annoying me haha.

Could anyone please kindly assist me.

Im having the same issue.

I blocked notifications for whatsapp (under the settings/notifications menu) before the weekend. Now Ive reactivated them I no longer have the badge indicator at all. I did wonder whether this was a whatsapp update issue but Ive asked a number of other people and they all seem to be fine.

Ive tried using a bunch of different launchers but no luck. Even when I use the samsung default touchwiz theres no counter.

Uninstalled/reinstalled whatsapp - no change.

Viber/facebook/SMS are all unaffacted and counters working fine.

Any suggestions?

Im performing a reset tonight - will update if that helps.

Update: I hadnt seen the bit about All Badge Provider.
I fiddled with settings and managed to get the badge back. Heres what I did;

1.Went to Application Manager then All the Badge Provider and cleared data THEN tapped 'DISABLE' [this did NOT make all the badges from all apps disappear. So I turned off/restarted phone - all badges disappeared]
2. Went to Application Manager then All the Badge Provider and cleared data THEN tapped 'ENABLE'
3. I turned off/restarted phone - all badges came back INCLUDING whatsapp.

Try this.

Ok - I have an update.
My problem re-occurred. I did some more testing, and have discovered that my problem relates to dodol launcher.
IF im using dodol launcher, that whatsapp counter will get stuck at random intervals. The only way to fix this is to revert to Touchwiz launcher, and then reset the BadgeProvider as dicussed above. This will bring the counter back to where is should be.
If I keep using Touchwiz the counter is fine. It only gets upset when I use dodol launcher.

So, Im summary, either there is a problem with Dodol Launcher and its compatability with touchwiz OR perhaps BadgeProvider is corrupt.

Im in 2 minds as to whether to re-flash my phone, but dont want to go through that if it turns out to be Dodol.

Can anyone provide any help?

what is all this Dodol and Touchwiz **** though? never heard of any of this
