Can I have two different default sms apps on dual sim phone?

On the Huawei P8 lite, Can I have different defualt apps for sms on each sim. For example, for Sim 1, I would like to use the stock messaging app but for Sim 2, I would like to use Hangouts.

The intent is to keep the messages separate between the two lines.

No, I don't think so. The SIM only sets up service provider information. It has nothing to do with app defaults.
