Can I install the American version of Android on a Chinese phone?

I had to buy a new phone in China and I would like to erase the Chinese version of Android and install the US version. Is there any way that that can be done? (It is a Huawei ATU-AL10). Thank you!

Welcome to Android Central! It's unlikely that there's an official English language ROM for that phone. You'd have to root the phone and see if there's a custom ROM in English that someone developed specifically for that phone. The forums at XDA-developers.com is a good resource for that kind of thing.
