Can I just use Network Mode to do the 3G/4G switch?

I learned about switching to/from 3G/4G on here using an app called something like LTE Switch. It has this drop down menu of a whole bunch of network modes that sound pretty complicated. The whole interface is very techie.

Can't I just go to the Network Mode screen and switch between LTE/CDMA and CDMA to switch between 3G and 4G?

Settings >> Wireless and Networks >> Mobile Networks >> Network Mode

If so, anyone got a little widget to get to this precious little spot quickly?

i go the long way through menu's, and don't do the widget... As often as i need 4g its easier that way, which isnt too often. 3g in my area is damn steady.. Ive also not experienced any of the outages others have.
