Can I make a shortcut to a file on my SD card?

I have Android ver. 4.1.2 running on an Alcatel One Touch Evolve. I have a file I frequently need to access, an Excel spreadsheet, on a my SD card. I am able to open it by using apps>file manager>SC card>misc. But is there a way to may a shortcut to my desktop?

You can download an app from the Play Store to do that. My favourite is ES File Explorer.

Thank you. I downloaded the app. I'm seeing my file. Now how do I make a shortcut to my desktop?



I can press and hold the file which gives me the options email, delete, move or copy to another folder on my SD card, but no option to copy to my desktop or make a shortcut to it.

Press & hold on it, tap on "more" bottom right and a menu will open. Select "add to desktop".
