Can I make the Signal app my default SMS?

I am trying to make Signal my default text messaging app. Currently it is Google. I downloaded the app and everywhere I look tells me to go to settings and there should be a "SMS" button to toggle on. There is not one. I have posted pictures

Go to settings>apps>at the top tap default apps > messages tap you should be able to choose from the list if not then what was mentioned in Link above probably has something to do with that
