Can I move my ringtone folder to the SD card on my Samsung Galaxy s5?

I have custom ringtones and custom notification sounds on my Samsung Galaxy S5. I know how to move them to the SD card, but my question is, CAN i move them? Meaning, will the phone be able to use them if they are in a different spot? Is there a way to tell the phone where the folders have been moved to?

Welcome to Android Central! It's not advisable. One of the reasons why a phone will "forget" that you had assigned a custom tone, and revert back to a preinstalled tone, is because your custom tone was only on the SD card.
