Can I recover missing SD card pictures?

I was attempting to create more space on my HTC desire phone today. So I plugged my phone into my computer and cut everything out of the internal storage folder and pasted it into a folder on my computer. I went back to cut everything out of my SD card folder only to find that it was empty. That was 10GB of pictures just gone. Is there anyway to get the back? Why did it do this?

I'm not sure why it did this. However, are you sure the photos are not still on the SD card or computer folder you transfered to? If not then the photos are likely gone. There are recovery tools available for computers and Android apps,which you can try. Just do a quick search and see what you find.

Yes, you can get back if SD card is not used for any other operations before recovery process. However, chances will be less if have overwritten SD card data with new one
