Can I remove Microsoft apps from my Samsung Galaxy J5

I have searched and the only answer I get is that I need to root the phone. Not going to do that as it is still under warranty. However, I see that the apps can be moved to an SD card. If I do that can I then pull the SD card, install in my Linux computer and then delete the app? Would that cause any system problems with the J5. It would be nice to get rid of those items and hopefully also get rid of the almost daily notifications to update the apps. The only MS app that I MIGHT ever use would be Skype. The rest are just bloatware.

Well if you want to remove any stock app without root thats really not happening... but there is way to get rid of those apps you dont want, simply install an app called Package Disabler and just disable the app you dont want. This is the only best way to freeze those apps you dont want on your phone without root.

If you're running Lollipop you don't need to install an app to disable apps. It can be done through Settings/Apps and tap the app you want to uninstall/disable and select the appropriate option.

You won't gain any storage space back but the app(s) will at least no longer run in the background.

Just saw this post and gave it a whirl. Was a little more involved than that but in essence that seems to have done the trick. Have to wait and see if the annoying update messages stop coming every day, but the apps appear to be disabled, so I think we're good to go. Thanks for that response.
