Can I return my X?

Pretty sure if your getting extreme lagg etc from the update it is caused by the update. The problem with how this was handled was devices weren't wiped in the first place. Yes users would be pisses to have to go back and set up these phones but the only way to insure people get a clean install is to wipe the devices. To insure all that old data doesn't cause issues

Haha this thread is funny can't stand these types of customers that come in to a store and complain like they are owed the world. The simple fact is the phone is a type of technology just like any other phone.

There are a million threads like this for EVERY SINGLE PHONE EVER MADE. Get over yourself and follow some of the advice mentioned here and you will be much better off.

Sorry for getting a little angry there but that kind of stuff really grinds my gears.

You need to wipe it because it could be an app that worked on 2.1 causing your issue. You should have wiped before you did the install in my opinion. I am still on my leaked 2.2 and am staying this way for now. My girls DX was upgraded with out a wipe when she did it herself at work. She had issues. She came home I wiped and rebooted. She is sitting pretty now running smooth with no issues.

dont be sorry, just dont do it.

alphabets, look, I get it, you don't want to wipe because it is inconvenient and in your opinion, you shouldn't have to.

IMO, just wipe the phone and set it up again. Then, if you still have problems, we won't be rolling our eyes at all the b!tchin' and moaning going on because you refuse to do the thing that will most likely solve your issues.

Besides, if you called Verizon CS, the first thing they would have you do is a Factory Reset. 'Nuff said.

I don't think that it is necessarily 2.2 ...has anyone considered that some of the apps they have might not be working correctly with 2.2 causing a domino effect...I have read that some developers can not get their apps to work as well with the X as with the original droid phones and now 2.2 hits, probably causing even more issues... I know its a process in the works but if all you want is a phone get a phone and maybe a netbook Or tablet to take the place of your droid... because this phone does combine these two services it is a lil more difficult to pinpoint problems...sooo do the factory rest and get phone back where you want it but gradually add apps to see if issues happen again ... or read the comments to see if an app is even working properly with x or 2.2. If nothing else works go to Verizon and work something out with them.

Wiping is your only option, even though it sucks. Verizon now has some way to get people that are hosed on the update back to 2.1, but I'm sure that's going to wipe your data anyway, so you might as do it now. If it works, and it probably will, you'll have your X running fine on 2.2. Resync with gmail, resync your apps through the market (all of that will happen automatically for the most part and only take about 15 minutes), then you just have to drag your icons to the home screens. I know it sucks, but it should get you back in solid condition in about 30 minutes.

If it doesn't work, get Verizon to put 2.1 back on it.

Dude welcome to the life of having a smart phone take a chill pill and run through the hoops and life will be okay. You have the best phone on the market in your hands right now.

Oh...my phone doesn't do any of that....

Seriously though, sounds like you might be real close to still being in that 30.day window....so to answer your original question, yes, you can. You'll probably be subject to the $35 restocking fee, but have at it

Who cares if you lose all your apps. Your paid will still be good and just write down what you got and dl again later. I deleted my keyboard today working to get a black one installed. Try renaming a file with no keyboard. I got it going with a text from another phone and some copy paste. Most problems have a fix and yours might be fixed with a wipe. Give it a shot.

Ok, so im getting you right. You did not try a hard rest before to got worked up? You do realize that 2.2 is a new operating system not a fix so some of the apps that you had installed on your unit may be your whole problem. If you notice not all apps on the
Market are listed as 2.2 tested. My suggestion is back up all data and then to a hard reset before you get so upset. Have you thought that this could have been the reason why some have issues and others don't, not everyone uses the same apps on there device.

You must never been a Windows user because when people upgraded from 98 to XP they usually learned that half of the Software they had wouldn't work. Give the reset a try.

Good Luck...

Wtf is windows... lol. That is very true. Some apps are just not friends with 2.2. When I loaded the 2.2 leak a month or so ago I didn't wipe. I had some rebooting issues and freeze ups. I lost root and after a few days flashed back to 2.1 then did a full wipe and rooted then went back to 2.2. Loaded apps and have not had a issue since.
