Can I return SGN for scratch on screen?

They might let you add it, but I'm pretty sure that is fraud. Something that isn't discussed here on the forums if I recall correctly.

I wouldn't say its fraud. I'd say its insurance in case something serious goes wrong which can definitely happen if he already just scratched it. Personally I wouldn't file a claim over a scratch. Just deal with it and insure your phone in case you drop it and it shatters or won't turn on etc.

Call customer service. Tell them your soft keys aren't responding to touch. Ive done the factory reset. Blah blah blah. Just as long as there's no water damage. They'll send out another. There's your replacement at no cost. Providing you have insurance.

I started with a screen protector mostly because I am a little bit ocd about the condition of the stuff I own but I found out pretty fast that it lowers the sensitivity, which is something I can deal with. However on top of that issue the oils from my fingers would create a slight rainbow effect on the screen, which is accentuated on a white background, and because I like to read this caused me to have to wipe my screen every time I opened Kindle or multi tasked away and back.

At first I did not attribute the rainbow effect to the screen protector and then I read that the glass on the GNex was treated to not attract the oils. I removed the cover and found that indeed I can no longer see the oils on the screen unless its off, plus its more responsive to my touch.

Another thing of note is that the screen protector started to get those hairline scratches and I really hated that. My screen has been without protection now for weeks and no hairline scratches or anything and I use it a lot. I am protective of it though.
For instance I am the only person that uses it and I have a dedicated pocket for it.
I have this micro fiber square that I got with my last TV that I use to clean it off to. First I just swipe it across with no pressure to rid any particles that may scratch and then I wipe it down and it always comes clean in a single wipe.

I am very happy with the hardiness of the phones screen and do not plan to put a protector on it ever again.

I don't know what you must have done to scratch it but I watched a video off someone taking keys to the thing with lots of pressure and it didn't scratch.

Oy. Not this again.

You have three options, two of which are unethical.

1) Explain what happened to Verizon, that there is an issue with the holster that caused the phone to get scratched, and see what they say.
2) Add insurance on after the fact.
3) Say the phone has another defect like rebooting etc, and exchange it for a new one.

Personally, I would sell the Nexus you have on ebay, get what you can get for it, and go buy one full price.

If he's adding it just to cover something that is already wrong then yes I'm pretty sure that's fraud. If he's just adding it for if something else happens then no it wouldn't be.
